Abstract An altruistic and benevolent fraternal organization, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.), which was originally organized in England in the 18th century, was started by Thomas Wildey in the United States in 1819. Hopkins Lodge No. 87, located in Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was organized in 1843. Joseph P. Cuttone Photographs and Clippings Collection

Abstract

Joseph Peter Cuttone (1915-2010) was a life-long Bristol resident, a barber, and an amateur photographer. The Joseph P. Cuttone photographs and clippings, circa 1880-1995, consist of photographs taken by Cuttone, as well as older original photographs and sometimes copies of those photographs that Cuttone collected. There are also a small number of newspaper clippings relating to Bristol history and local events.

Abstract

Established in 1926, Fleetwings, Inc. was an aircraft components factory that moved from Long Island, New York to Bristol, Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1934. Due to the company's success during World War II, Henry J. Kaiser's Kaiser Industries invested in the company and renamed it Kaiser-Fleetwings Corp.; the company closed in 1962. James M. (Jim) Shimer, Jr. (1914-2007) worked there as a technical illustrator. Henry A. Liese worked there as an engineer.
