Rare Books Collection
Scope and Contents
This collection contains an assortment of published and unpublished local history books on Bristol Borough and the surrounding area, some being spare copies of items in the open stacks of the Grundy Library, but deemed unique enough to keep. The collection also contains miscellaneous scrapbooks and business/community ledgers in varying physical conditions.

Biographical / Historical
A selection of rare to semi-rare local history books, as well as unique ledgers and scrapbooks, have been donated to the Grundy Archive. This collection represents published and unpublished bound materials that pertain to the history of the greater Bristol area. The assortment of donated scrapbooks contain history relevant to the borough and some of the families that have resided within.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
Several items (especially ledgers and scrapbooks) in this collection are in fragile states and require additional care when handling. Frequent damage to bindings and broken bindings can be found. Archival gloves recommended for viewing the older ledgers with a book stand or pillow.
