Bristol Artifacts and Objects Collections
Materials range from 1870 to 2017. Items remain in the original donated condition, some fragile items being covered or padded for protection. Provenance for a majority of the items is unknown, however, most of them pertain to Bristol small businesses (current and former).
Bristol History Photograph Collection
The collection consists of eleven boxes of miscellaneous photographs of various dates, creators, and conditions, all pertaining to local Bristol history. Some photographs are copies with the status of the original prints and their provenance being unknown.
Photographs within this collection have been digitized and published to the Digital Collections website. Any that are photocopies have not been included online for publication, but can be viewed in the physical collection.
Hunter-Townsend Collection
This collection is organized in the original received order from the donor as it came into the Grundy Archive. The collection consists of personal papers, photographs, and items that were handed down from the Hunter, Townsend, and Weagley families.
King George II Inn Collection
This collection is organized in original received order with subject based files. Materials range from circa 1765 to 2005. The collection consists of various records pertaining to the King George II Inn building, its previous owners, and activities including: correspondence, photographs/negatives, wharf shipping records, and personal books.
Paul Spector Collection
This collection is in the original received order from the donor as it came into the Grundy Archive. The collection consists of legal documents, photographs, and high school memorabilia donated by Paul Spector, handed down from his father and grandfather.
Rare Books Collection
This collection contains an assortment of published and unpublished local history books on Bristol Borough and the surrounding area, some being spare copies of items in the open stacks of the Grundy Library, but deemed unique enough to keep. The collection also contains miscellaneous scrapbooks and business/community ledgers in varying physical conditions.
