Doron Green (Jan. 10, 1868 – Oct. 31, 1949) was a domestically acclaimed local historian and author, publishing “History of Bristol Pennsylvania” as well as “Old Homes on Radcliffe Street”. Doron was extremely involved in the community of Bristol Borough, acting as a member of the Elks Society and Bristol Travel Club. He also held a number of leadership positions throughout the town, such as secretary of the State Fireman’s Association, editor of the Lotus Literary and Debating Society, chairman of the Halloween association, and President of the Bristol Public School Board. Doron was also a parishioner of the local Bristol Methodist Church, having undergone Sunday school, becoming a member of the Methodist Brotherhood, and serving as the Church’s music director. This penchant for music is also seen through the various songs and poems he has catalogued, oftentimes written for the various societies or clubs he was involved in. Outside of these extracurriculars, Doron acted as the treasurer and paymaster for the William H. Grundy & Co. Mill, working for the company for 55 years.

George Nelson Green (June 2, 1913 – July 1978) is the son of historian, Doron Green, and his wife Clara May. George worked at the PA Manufacturers Association Gas Inc. Co. before enlisting in the U.S. Navy on the 16th of October, 1940. He spent the majority of World War II stationed in San Fransisco and, based on his letters to his father, was quite the cinephile.
